This is a science position with a focus on astronomy. This individual is responsible for the study and maintenance of star charts, maps and databases. Works with cooperating starcraft that frequent the starbase for access to any studies and discoveries to research and incorporate.

The Starbase Stellar Cartographer is not so much involved in navigation directly, but they do update star charts and monitor the trade routes for any spatial anomalies that may disrupt those routes. The SC is also highly involved in maintaining the starbase's inertial navigation system.
